Antea Polska S.A. has signed an agreement with Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdynia S.A. (Port of Gdynia Authority) to develop project documentation for the task entitled “Reconstruction of the French Quay for handling with mobile cranes.” 

The project aims to adapt the quay for modern cargo handling operations, increasing the efficiency of servicing cargo vessels in one of Poland’s most important ports.

Subject of the contract

The subject of the contract is the preparation of complete project documentation, including author’s supervision during the construction works and obtaining the final building permit. The French Quay, 402 meters long and 12 meters deep, is one of the key locations in the Port of Gdynia, historically serving passenger ships and now adapted for modern cargo handling operations.

Scope of work

The scope of the contract includes:

  1. Documentation analysis: conducting a detailed analysis of the existing quay structure documentation and underground utilities for all industries and operators.
  2. Geotechnical investigations: carrying out necessary geotechnical studies, preceded by the development of geological designs and obtaining relevant permits and approvals.
  3. Preparation of a topographic map: creating a map for design purposes, preceded by an analysis of geodetic documentation and verification of the actual field situation.
  4. Obtaining administrative decisions: preparing and submitting an application for a zoning decision and building permit, including obtaining a water law permit.
  5. Preparation of project documentation: preparing the site development plan, architectural and construction designs, and technical designs, along with necessary arrangements and additional studies resulting from the obtained decisions.
  6. Specifications and cost estimates: preparing technical specifications for the execution and acceptance of construction works, as well as bills of quantities and cost estimates, taking into account the location of individual infrastructure elements.
  7. Author’s supervision: exercising author’s supervision during the execution of construction works, in accordance with applicable construction law regulations.

Antea Polska’s experience in port projects

Antea Polska has many years of experience in implementing infrastructure projects in the port and hydrotechnical sector. The company specializes in comprehensive services including, among others, concepts, feasibility studies, design, technical consulting, and acting as Contract Engineer.   • Construction of a heavy quay in the Port of Police: preparation of project documentation for construction works for the construction of a transshipment quay.
  • Reconstruction of the Szczecin Transshipment Quay in the Port of Gdańsk: preparation of project documentation for the reconstruction of the quay and the adjacent port channel, enabling a depth of not less than 11.2 m.
