Development of design documentation and obtaining a building permit based on it for the project entitled: "Installation of a heat pump unit using waste heat from the municipal waste water of the Central Sewage Treatment Plant in Gliwice". - is the task that Antea Polska S.A. will perform for PEC - Gliwice Sp. z o.o.
Investment description
For this purpose, our client PEC - Gliwice Sp. z o.o. - will expand the energy infrastructure of the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Gliwice by installing a 12 MW heat pump system on its site, using the enthalpy of treated wastewater in the city's district heating system.
Currently, the technical infrastructure of the wastewater treatment plant uses electricity generated from the combustion of biogas extracted from the treatment process, but does not use waste heat from the process.
The construction of the compressor heat pump unit will enable the waste heat from the discharged treated wastewater to be used for the plant's own needs and for technological purposes. It will also reduce the operating costs of the technical infrastructure and increase the utilisation rate of the existing cogeneration units. On the other hand, the produced surplus heat will be transferred to the municipal heat network of Gliwice, thus contributing to the management and use of waste heat in the infrastructure of PEC Gliwice in the process of decarbonising the production of system heat.
